A linked store is a storage area that does not contain content files. Instead, it contains a logical link to the actual storage area, which is a file store.

Linked stores are not available in a Documentum 6 or later repository. However, linked stores are available in a 5.3x repository. On Windows hosts, the actual storage area is implemented as a shared directory. On UNIX and Linux hosts, the linked store contains a logical link to the actual storage area.
