LDAP Server failover properties

Table 2.22 describes the properties on the Failover tab of the LDAP Server Configuration page. The properties apply to new and existing LDAP configuration objects.

Failover Settings

Use this section to enter settings for the primary LDAP server.

Retry Count

The number of times Content Server tries to connect to the primary LDAP server before failing over to a designated secondary LDAP server. The default is 3.

If the retry count value is set to 0, Content Server immediately reports that it failed to contact the primary LDAP directory server.

Retry Interval

Enter an interval number and select a duration (seconds, minutes, or hours) between retries. The default is at 3 seconds.

Content Server fails to bind to the primary LDAP directory server, it waits the number of seconds specified before attempting to bind to the primary LDAP directory server again.

Reconnect

Enter an interval number and select a duration (seconds, minutes, or hours) after a failover for the system to try to reconnect to the primary LDAP server.

The default is set at 5 minutes.

Secondary LDAP Servers

Specifies secondary LDAP servers.

  • To add a new secondary LDAP server, click Add. The Secondary LDAP Server page is displayed.

  • To modify an existing secondary LDAP server, select the checkbox next to the name and click Edit. The Secondary LDAP Server page is displayed.

  • To delete an existing secondary LDAP server, select the checkbox next to the name and click Delete.

  • To reorder the list of LDAP servers, click Move Up or Move Down.

Name

Name of the secondary LDAP server.

Hostname

The name of the host on which the secondary LDAP directory server is running.

Port

The port information.

SSL Port

The SSL port number.
