The storage area contains information about existing stores and pages for creating various store types. To access the storage area, select Administration > Storage Management > Storage. The Storage list page displays with a list of existing stores and location objects. If a storage system complies with the NFS or UNIX file system or CIFS (on Microsoft Windows) file system protocols and standards, Documentum can use this storage system. The first ten storage areas in the repository are displayed in the order in which they were created.
A repository can contain the following storage objects:
Table 11.1. Repository storage objects
Storage | Icon | Description |
---|---|---|
File Store | ![]() | File stores hold content as files. For information about file stores, refer to File stores. |
Linked Store | ![]() | Linked stores do not contain content, but point to the actual storage area, which is a file store. For more information linked stores, refer to Linked stores. |
Blob Store | ![]() | Blob stores store files directly in the repository in a special table. For more information about blob stores, refer to Blob stores. |
Mount Point | ![]() | Mount point objects represent directories that are mounted by a client. For more information about mount points, refer to Mount points. |
External File Store | ![]() | External file stores do not store any content. They point to the actual file system. For more information about external file stores, refer to External stores. |
External Free Store | ![]() | External free stores do not store any content. They point to a CD-ROM or user-defined storage. The nodes run a collection of services to store, retrieve, categorize, and manage the data in the system or cloud. For more information about Atmos stores, refer to Atmos stores. |
Distributed Store | ![]() | Distributed stores do not contain content, but point to component storage areas that store the content. The component storage areas in a distributed store can be any mixture of the file store and linked store storage types, provided that all have the same value in the media_type property. For more information about creating, viewing, and modifying distributed stores, refer to Distributed stores. |
